Privacy Policy
This policy covers Tip, the tipping service operated by Bellissimo, Inc., dba Tip. It describes what the tip box collects. Each application may have its own policy covering the rest of that application.
1. What we never see
Your card number, expiry, and security code never reach our servers. Payment details are entered on Stripe's hosted checkout page and handled entirely by Stripe, a PCI Level 1 certified processor. We could not disclose your card details in a breach because we do not have them.
2. What the tip box collects
- The amount and the application you tipped — so the payment can be attributed and reconciled.
- The page URL the tip came from — to confirm the tip box was embedded where we expect.
- Your IP address — used transiently for rate limiting, to stop automated abuse. It is not stored alongside your payment record.
- Your email address — collected by Stripe at checkout so it can send your receipt, and passed to us for support and refunds.
We do not collect your name, address, or phone number, and the tip box asks no questions beyond an amount.
3. What we do not do
- No advertising trackers, analytics pixels, or third-party scripts run in the tip box. It loads one file from our own domain and talks only to us and to Stripe.
- No cookies are set by the tip box.
- We never sell, rent, or trade personal information. There is no circumstance in which we would.
- We do not build advertising profiles or share data across our applications for marketing.
4. Who else processes your data
- Stripe, Inc. — payment processing, receipts, fraud prevention. See Stripe's privacy policy.
- Google Cloud / Firebase — hosting for the tip box and this site.
- PayPal, Inc. (Venmo) — only if you choose the Venmo link. See Venmo's privacy policy.
That is the complete list.
The Venmo link is a plain hyperlink. Nothing loads from Venmo inside the tip box and no data is sent to them unless you click it — at which point you are on Venmo, under their policy, and we receive only what Venmo shows us about a payment you send.
5. How long we keep it
Payment records are retained for as long as tax and accounting law requires, typically seven years. Rate-limiting data is discarded within minutes. Support email is retained until it is no longer needed to resolve your issue.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to certain processing. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA; residents of the EEA and UK have rights under the GDPR. We extend these rights to everyone regardless of location.
Email sent.tip.web.app@gmail.com and we will act within 30 days. We will not charge you, degrade your experience, or treat you differently for exercising any of these rights. Note that we cannot delete records we are legally required to retain for tax purposes, and that deleting a payment record does not reverse the payment — for that, request a refund.
7. Children
The service is not directed to anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a minor has tipped us, email sent.tip.web.app@gmail.com and we will refund the payment and delete the record.
8. Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Secrets are held in managed secret storage, not in code. Webhooks from Stripe are cryptographically verified before we act on them. No system is perfectly secure, but the most sensitive data — your card — is never ours to lose.
9. Changes
Material changes are posted here with a new “Last updated” date.
